Wisconsin's Civil War Memorials GAR Memorial at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh
This monument sits in the GAR plot on the grounds of the Oshkosh, Wis. Riverside Cemetery. The white bronze soldier stands about six foot on top of about a seven foot mable base. The soldier and base are on top of a concrete base that is another 5 foot tall. The whole monument is rather tall at 17 to 18 foot. It reads: "GAR" and "TO OUR DEAD COMRADES" in the marble. The monument faces east. There is one crack in the soldiers backside of the frock coat. Otherwise it shows no deteioration or rusting. The concrete base has some repair work showing and in need of some more repair. Riverside Cemetery is on the west side of the corner of Murdock Street and Hwy 110.
