Evansville, Wis - John Gardner Babcock, 97, last Civil War Veteran in this area, died today at his Town of Magnolia home.
John Gardner Babcock enlisted at Magnolia, WI, in Co. D, 13th Wisconsin Vol. Infantry on Sep 18, 1861. He mustered out on Nov. 19, 1864.
