Reuben B. Dean passed away at his home in Danbury, Wis., December 11, 1932 at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 8 days. He was born August 3, 1837 in Illinois. He was a Civil War veteran, serving in three regiments:
Mr. Dean married Laura Jane Babcock on 14 February 1875 in Minneapolis. He and Laura raised eight children while farming in Burnett County, Wisconsin: Mary, Sarah, Harvey, Harry, Harriet, Leonard, Horace, Lucy, and Stella Catherine. He went to Deming, N.M. in May, 1914 living there until May, 1918. By 1920 he was back living with his family in Burnett County. He was bedridden from July 31, 1932 until his death. His children Harvey and Stella from Luna County, N.M., were with him at the last. His son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dean could not be present. His other children live in Danbury. He is survived by 4 daughters, three sons, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives. His wife, Laura Jane Dean, preceeded him in May, 1924.
